About Me
I hold a Masters Degree in Mindfulness Based Psychotherapeutic Practice and a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am an Accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I adhere to the Codes of Ethics and Practice of BACP and UKCP.
My approach to the work is collaborative and relational. I want to work with you to explore how it is to be you in this world, what your experience is and how you might like to experience or express yourself differently.
I have a deep belief in this work which comes from working with clients over a number of years and experiencing myself how transformation happens in the presence of compassion, acceptance and non-judgemental listening.
My commitment to the work and my clients rests in my continuing work at depth on my own awareness in the present moment and an ongoing curiosity about how we as humans function in this world. I have a strong connection with nature and my own resources come from walking the moors with my dogs, painting and being in wild landscapes.
Before training in counselling and psychotherapy I worked in the scientific community leading research projects.
